Worship

Ordination ServiceThe Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are central to our worship of the Triune God. Guided by the notion that the Bible contains the will of God for the way He is to be worshipped, the Westminster Confession of Faith states, “the acceptable way of worshiping the true God is instituted by himself, and so limited by his own revealed will, that he may not be worshiped according to the imaginations and devices of men, or the suggestions of Satan, under any visible representation, or any other way not prescribed in the Holy Scripture” (CHAPTER XXI:1).

In keeping with this “regulative principle of worship,” the elements of our weekly worship at Garst Mill Presbyterian Church are prayer, the reading, preaching, and hearing of God’s Word, the administration of the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and the singing of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.
