I’m New Here

Welcome to Garst Mill Presbyterian church

Garst Mill is a congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church whose purpose is to glorify God and enjoy fellowship with Him.

We focus on the public worship of God with an emphasis on preaching. We believe that preaching is one of God’s primary means of caring for the souls of his people as well as calling sinners to repentance and salvation: “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ” (Romans 10:17).

We encourage families to worship together in the sanctuary. There is an unstaffed nursery in the lower level.

Sunday School for all age groups is at 10:00AM, morning worship is at 11:00AM and evening worship at 6:30PM. Wednesdays we have a meal at 6:00PM with Bible study and prayer meeting at 6:30PM.

what to expect

WORSHIP

Public worship is conservative and “traditional.” We adhere to the Regulative Principle of worship: whatever is not directly commanded or, by good and necessary consequence deduced from Scripture, is forbidden in worship.

PREACHING

Our pastor preaches through whole books of the Bible in order to present the whole counsel of God. Each sermon is an exposition of a portion of Scripture as it is given in the context of the book and of the whole Bible. We desire to know what God has to say to His people through His Word. See Romans 10:14-17 and 2 Timothy 4:2.

SINGING

Our singing is simple and corporate. It is an activity of the whole congregation with an emphasis on the content of our songs. We desire to bring our praises and prayers to God in a way that is edifying and Biblical. At Garst Mill we sing Psalms and hymns, using the Trinity Psalter-Hymnal.

FELLOWSHIP

Fellowship among believers is an important aspect in the life of believers. To that end, we encourage interaction through a monthly meal (on the 2nd Sunday of every month), meal and Bible study every Wednesday, and personal hospitality.
